Moving cost:

How to obtain the quote?

The moving cost depends on the distance you are moving and the amount of the household stuff you have. 

You can supply this information in three ways:

Arrange for someone to visit your property and give you the quote in person


Packing:

 

Can you supply packing materials?

Yes, we can. When we deliver your packing materials we will charge you just for the cost of the packing materials and will refund this amount when we collect our boxes back; alternatively you can purchase the packing materials from our on-line shop.

When can you deliver packing materials?

As soon as you confirm your moving date with us.

Are the boxes returnable?

Yes, they are. As soon as you unpack them, give us a ring and we will collect the boxes and will refund the deposit you've paid.

Can you do packing for me?

Yes, we can. We provide a Full packing service for the additional charge. Usually we do the packing one or two days in advance before the completion.

Do you have to sign the Contract?

Yes.

Do you have to pay the deposit?

No, you don't.

But you can if you wish.

Do you have an Insurance?

Yes. We have Goods in Transit and Public Liability insurances. If you require an additional cover, we can arrange this for you.

What if I need storage?

We have recommended local  storage facilities.


On the day :

 

What time do you arrive on the moving date?

Usually we start at 9am or any other agreed time.

What is included in the quote?

  • manpower
  • removal vehicle(s)
  • protecting the furniture
  • disassembling and assembling service
  • un-plumbing and plumbing appliances

Do you protect the furniture?

Stretch film is used to protect soft furniture; 

cardboard - to protect the wooden and glass surfaces.

Do I have to take apart my furniture?

You can take it apart yourself or we can do it for you on the moving day.

Do you pack the fragile stuff?

Yes, we do provide fragile packing service for the additional charge.

Do I have to empty my chests of drawers?

You can leave the drawers full as long as they are strong enough to support their own weight.

Will my property be emptied by 1 pm?

Yes, your property will be empty  by 1pm. For the larger properties we do all the preparations one day in advance.


Payment and Feedback:

 

When do I have to pay for the removals?

You have to pay on the removal day after the move is complete.

How do you take the payment?

  • in cash
  • by bank transfer
  • by card
  • by cheque

Changing Address

Banks, Solicitors, TV Licensing, Insurances, Utility Providers, DVLA, Dentists & Doctors, also BT and mobile telephone providers need to be notified. Also let know your local Council and the Council in the area you are moving to, so they can arrange your new council tax rates. Please visit Valuation Office Agency for more information.

Remember to re-direct your mail. This can be arranged at the Post Office or on their web site.

Children

Children are always exited about moving house, what can make things more stressful for you. Try to keep them busy during the whole removal day. Pack their favourite toys/books into one clearly marked box for an easy access.

Documents and Valuables

Keep your documents, personal belongings and valuables in the safe place with you on the removal day.

Mobile Phones

Keep your mobile phone fully charged, so you can stay in touch with the removal team to ensure your moving runs smoothly.

Kitchen

Empty and defrost your Fridges/Freezers. Put your food into plastic bags or plastic containers on the moving day.

Parking

Check if there are any parking restrictions, so the parking permits for the removal vans could be arranged in a good time. Council usually requires at least 10 working days notice.

Packing

Start your packing as soon as possible. Mark your boxes (eg. bedroom 1,2, 3, etc) and mark if the content is fragile.
